Competitive Athletic Career
From high school cross country beginnings I continued with an involved and dedicated pursuit of competitive running. The cross country evolved into road racing and then into trail running and mountain hill climbs which saw most of my best times and places. I won and set a plethora of course records in both the US and Australia in both individual events and in race series which included a number of separate, although related, races. I also competed in orienteering and rogaining events in Australia. My career in the sport culminated in being a member of the USA Mountain Running Team in 1993 and 1995 to represent the country in the World Cup in Europe. These races were effectively the world championships of trail running. I retired from racing in 1998 although can still be found running occasionally on trails and roads, albeit at a slower pace.
Below is a listing of result highlights.
